Arts Integration Endorsement

Arts Integration Endorsement

Overview

The course builds capacity in six art forms as well as in integration of the arts across the curriculum. Participants will experience hands-on learning in dance, drama, media arts, music, visual arts, and literary arts including lessons to use with elementary students. USBE has moved to competency based endorsements. The new competency based criteria for the arts integration endorsement is not yet published. When the course is ready, information will be sent to those who sign up below.

Purpose

Teachers will improve their own skills in the arts as well as learn pedagogy to teach and integrate the arts. This endorsement attaches to an elementary teaching license. Participants will demonstrate their learning by creating a portfolio, writing reflections, writing papers, creating artifacts and conducting classroom research. Full attendance and participation is required.
